Discover New Uses For Your Almond Milk With Custom Crowd-Sourced Recipes From “Feast With Friends” Host Chef Dan Churchill
Chef Dan Churchill of Scripps Networks’ “Feast with Friends” and ABC’s “Good Morning America” has unveiled some winning ways to use almond milk – literally.
Churchill announced the winning recipes from online votes cast during his crowdsourced recipe campaign hosted on Instagram. Throughout the All the Places Almond Milk Can Go campaign, he shared breakfast, dinner and dessert ideas, and fans voted for the recipes they most wanted to try. Each winning recipe was developed exclusively by Churchill for California Almonds, showcasing how almond milk can be used in many every-day ways people don’t usually consider.
Out of over 9,000 votes cast, the fan favorites highlighted a preference for easy, modern twists on classic family-style recipes. Chef Dan’s modern, comfort food-inspired creations used store-bought almond milk and other simple, easily accessible ingredients:
- One Pan Breakfast Banana Cake: A delightful breakfast game-changer, this easy skillet cake will get the family out of bed with the amazing smells coming from the oven.
- Creamy Dairy-Free Pesto Pasta: Almond milk makes for a slightly nutty, creamy sauce in this recipe, and be sure to make extra almond pesto – you’ll find yourself putting it on everything.
- No Bake Almond Cheesecake: Simply delicious and no oven required (not even for the crust!), this light and sweet chilled almond cheesecake is also dairy-free.
As Churchill said, “I am passionate about cooking clean, high-quality food that tastes amazing. These recipes are fun, easy, and most important – they are so delicious! It was hard for me to pick my own favorites, and from what I saw, I wasn’t the only one - the voting was really close. I find myself making variations on these concepts with the almond milk I have in my fridge. After this experience, I’m thinking even more about all the places almond milk can go.”
Almond milk is popular for its taste, and has also proven to be a satisfying option for those looking to avoid lactose, consume less saturated fat and cholesterol, and watch their calories and sugar. Some unsweetened almond milks offer as few as 30 calories per serving with 0 grams of sugar. Almond milk is often used in smoothies/bowls, coffee, and cereal, but its versatility doesn’t stop there – it’s excellent in sauces and soups, cakes and cookies, pancakes, puddings, beverages and more.
