On CTV Morning Live, one of Vancouver's top morning shows, retail RD Patricia Chuey talked about how to incorporate nuts into your diet and as it's heart health month, almonds are a great heart healthy food. She highlighted that almonds are a source of good quality fats, with a serving of 23 almonds containing 160 calories and pointed out that new research (Baer) found that it's even 25% lower than previously thought. She also mentioned almonds contain 12 vitamins and minerals and fibre and showed them in ABC’s portion tin. Additionally she suggested adding almonds to a salad, using almond flour for added protein and nutrients in baking and instead of reaching for chips making spiced almonds.
